Mercury Retrograde 2026: Exact Dates & What to Do (Budh Vakri)

Mercury retrograde (बुध वक्री) is the period when the planet appears — from Earth — to move backwards through the zodiac. In Vedic astrology Budh governs communication, commerce, logic and travel, so its retrograde is famous for misunderstandings, delays and revision.

Mercury Retrograde Dates 2026

Mercury turns retrograde three to four times a year. For exact 2026 dates with shadow periods, see our always-updated Mercury Retrograde calendar — it includes entry times in IST and the chhaya (shadow) tithis.

What to Avoid During Budh Vakri

• Signing contracts or starting new ventures
• Buying vehicles, phones or electronics
• Launching websites, apps or campaigns

What Retrograde Is Good For

• Reconnecting with old clients, friends, projects
• Editing, reviewing, proofreading
• Research and unfinished business

Simple Remedies

Chant "Om Budhaya Namaha", wear green on Wednesdays, and double-check every message before sending. Retrograde is not a curse — it is the sky asking you to slow down and review.
